What's the cheapest way of getting CS-80 sounds that doesn't sound completely fake? I heard some CS-80ish sounds on a Waldorf Blofeld that were quite good. Any other suggestions?

have you tried string synth plugins? there's zero-g nostalgia and gforce virtual string machine, to name just 2.

maybe one of these will suit?

Arturia makes the CS-80V, a software emulation of the CS80. It's quite nice sounding though of course can't compare to the real thing. Hardware-wise I've never heard anything come close to a CS80, it's a massive piece of hardware with a massive sound.

If you can find an Electone E-70 or E-75 (model 7000 in the USA) you will get VERY close to the CS-80 sounds. Check out YouTube.
