NAMM: Teenage Engineerings OP-1 seems awesome

Teenage Engineering revealed the OP-1 in Frankfurt at Musik Messe last year. Since then there has been a real buzz about the OP-1, everyone craving for more... They are off course at NAMM to. This time they introduce the new tape feature on the OP-1.

"It instantly let you record anything you do on the OP-1 to any track of the built-in Tape feature. Record your sound tweaks or beats in real-time. Change speed during recording, or record backwards. Split, lift and join. Make a loop or record a section with Tape Step Recording. You have twelve minutes recording time in normal tape speed and 4 tracks to put your magic on."

No official release date or price for the OP-1 yet. Though it seem like they are very close now. Swedish media (Resumé) reports that they have hooked up with Jesper Kouthoofd to make visual promotion for the product. It is reported that production will kick off during the latter part of 2010 and that the OP-1 will cost about $850. I want one now!

I Have Synth

Biography:

Been into synthesizers for 15 years, but never a technical geek. I'm a member of the band Velours Perfect, and have had electronic music as a hobby since I stopped playing with G.I Joe Figures. I buy and sell synths all the time, sometimes manically, and my favourite synth varies, right now it is the Alesis Ion. On this blog you can read about whatever comes out of my mind, mostly synthesizer-related stuff though. Bzzt!

I'm also on Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo and off course Ihavesynth.
